2011 Community Group of the Year - Coolum Lions Australia Day award recipients
Every Thursday morning you can walk past the Uniting Church Hall in Coolum and hear the sound of raucous laughter and luscious harmonies coming from a group of ordinary folk who gather together to enjoy friendship, fun and the joy of singing.
Cool Harmonies have been singing up a storm for nearly four years now, and grown into a community choir with more than 50 members.
We have a diverse repertoire that includes rhythms from Africa to the Middle East, and sing in a range of styles from gospel to swing.
We are passionate about sharing these uplifting sounds with others, and encourage anyone, from closet singers to divas, to come and join
us in our relaxed and supportive environment, to discover just how

About usOur group was formed in April 2007 by two new and enthusiastic facilitators, Yvonne Corstorphin and Ngareta Ring, who were both passionate about sharing harmonies in the community, but tentative about stepping out and making it happen. Read more...
