Six boxes and three stripey bags are on their way to warm up the Lockyer Valley with a bit of Cool Harmonies' sunshine. They contain 75 beanies, 16 blankets and a dozen quilts which will be distributed via the Hannah Foundation to 368 families in Grantham, Murphy's Creek and Spring Bluff who were affected by January's floods.
Several choir members have been pinning, stuffing, stitching, sewing on buttons, cutting and creating these warm, cheerful pieces made with love and heaps of caring. From week one those little bits of red, black and grey pieces had Michelle and Carolynn cutting, Yvonne pinning, Rochelle stitching, then after some homework, Esme surrounded them with grey edges in week two, then finally with some help from Stephanie, they produced a stunning quilt. Lesley's pink and navy quilt looked superb as did Lenore's dramatic black and red one (pictured above). Members also donated spare jumpers, vests and scarfs in the packages which were picked up and delivered free by All Purpose Transport couriers.
